Money affects your entire life | Your entire life affects money |
People spend a lot of time throughout their life making money, worrying about money, and making plans about money. We will not delve into the religious debate on the idea that "money cannot buy happiness"; however, for many people, the feeling of happiness, peace and satisfaction with life depends on a good financial condition.
Money makes it easier to move through many other parts of our Balanced System, starting from the physical elements (exercise, food, health, looks) and other elements, including increasing your attractiveness in your relationships, family and social life.
But it is important to separate what is necessary from what elements may be enjoyable for you but are not vital. For example, while working out away from home in a trendy fitness club, you pay not for the exercise itself, but rather for the opportunity to show your status or for the pleasure of engaging with other people.
The focus of this module is not so much about the money itself, but financial independence, which many people seek and consider as part of a happy, successful life.
Financial independence is a situation in which your income is not dependent on doing a job (that you may dislike) just to earn money. Being financially independent means that you're working exclusively because you like it, not to make money.
This condition of financial independence gives you the opportunity to feel free and secure. It gives you peace of mind, a positive attitude toward life, and leads to positive feelings in general. This independence includes the resources and time required for your needs, including in your own education and growth, in relationships, family life, and social life. Most importantly, financial independence makes it possible to concentrate on self-realization, rather than on making money.
What affects the amount of money you have and on our path to financial independence? To a large extent, education and career. Clarity of mind and self-discipline are very important in order to establish and maintain the right financial decisions, especially regarding possessions and entertainment. What is sometimes called the "philosophical attitude to life" (a combination of calmness, optimism, mental clarity and spirituality) is a direct path to financial independence. Also, your position in your relationships and in the family affects what happens in your financial life.
